Inspiration: This chair is derived from the ‘wing chair’ or ‘Porters chair’, which protected a person from a draft in older houses. In its contemporary manifestation it provides a space for a person to relax, rest, concentrate, read, or work. Its shape is reminiscent of boats and shells, vessels and pods, and its construction is based on that of a barrel. Husk is ideal for people interacting with their tech and analog devices alike, as it gives aural privacy as well as a shield from light and screen reflections. These factors make the Husk Chair perfect for both public spaces and hospitality environments.
